SKG USA Objectives...

  1. Cultural Diversity - Introduce and exchange traditional Indian Music to people of all origins in USA
  2. Educate - Run workshops to educate local participants and creating opportunities for local students to go and learn music in India.
  3. Celebrate - Provide a platform so that local talent can be promoted through shows and concerts in USA
  4. Compete - Organize an annual Surtarang Talent Quest Competition, to discover talented USA finalists to participate in the All India National Surtarang Concert held in India each year. This will provide talented individuals a platform to showcase their talent, and a gateway to the bollywood music industry.

Sangam Kala Group has been involved in a continuous search to provide young budding singers a platform for the last 29 years and has to its credit bringing today’s singing stars and celebrities such as Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Anand Raj Anand (Music Director), Shivani Kashyap, Penaz Masani, Shreya Ghoshal, Jaspinder Narula, Mohd. B.R.ChopraB.R. Chopra elder brother of Yash Chopra one of India's most respected film personalities, has been an architect of what is now known as the golden era of the Bollywood industry. Having converted off beat stories into immortal classics like Waqt (1965) and Naya Daur (1957), he commands high regard in the world film fraternity. B.R. Chopra has always endeavored to make socially relevant films, which at the same time try to cater to popular sentiment. For instance, Naya Daur (1957), Kanoon (1960), Gumrah (1963) and Ittefaq (1969). In 1999, B.R. Chopra was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema. B.R. Films turned to television in 1985 and made several successful television programs, the most successful of the being the serial Mahabharat (1988), based on the Hindu epic. Perhaps the most popular serial in the history of Indian cinema, it entered the Guinness Book of World record.

Yash ChopraLabeled the eternal romantic and with one of the best musical senses in the business, Yash Chopra is arguably India's most successful director of romantic films. Yash Chopra's career spans over five decades, with major successes in every one of those decades and more than 40 films to his credit, most of which have created box-office history. Yash Chopra directed his first movie, Dhool Ka Phool in 1959. Encouraged by this success, the Chopra brothers made a few more movies together, the most notable being Waqt (1965), India's first multi-starrer; and Ittefaq (1969), a thriller. Although he made action-oriented films like the ever-popular Deewaar (1975), it is in tackling love and its various aspects that he has been at his best. In 1973, the Chopra brothers separated, with Yash Chopra founding his studio, Yash Raj Films.

PanditPandits Rajan and Sajan Mishra are two of the most beloved and highly regarded vocalists in India. They are perhaps the most successful Hindustani vocal duo of our time. They are also the foremost exponents of Benaras Vocal Gharana. Rajan Mishra and Pandit Sajan Mishra belong to the family of great maestros. Both brothers were trained in vocal music under the able guidance of their father, Pandit Hanuman Mishra. Later they were trained by the famous sarangi player Pt. Gopal Prasad Mishra and Pt. Bade Ramdas Mishra. Mishra brothers have opened Gurukuls in Benaras and Dehradun, where students are trained in the classical trdaition of guru-shishya parampara. Sons of Rajan Mishra, Ritesh and Rajnish Mishra are the primary disciples of the Mishra brothers and are keeping the family tradition going.
